What's being rumored
Word going around is that the next Superstrike — reportedly the full name is G PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE 2, combining a platform bump (X2 → X3) with the Superstrike sub-brand's second generation — is releasing in three colorways: white, black, and pink. It's also said to be getting a new MCU, reportedly a Nordic 54H20. On top of that, there are rumors of broader improvements across the board, though specifics beyond the MCU swap haven't fully solidified yet.
Photos of an apparent unit have been circulating widely as of this post, showing "PRO X3" branded on the shell in a pink colorway — which lines up with the pink option in the colorway rumor and is what confirms the X3 naming above. What's actually corroborated
Separately from the color and MCU specifics, multiple outlets have reported on a second-generation Superstrike tied to Logitech's own confirmed G PLAY 2026 event on September 23, with live reveals in LA, Warsaw, and Shanghai. Leak reporting attributed to the Pericord Discord community and leaker @jakeufps points to an upgraded microcontroller and further HITS (Haptic Inductive Trigger System) tuning, with click latency rumored to drop by as much as 30 milliseconds. The existing sensor is reportedly staying put rather than getting a next-gen HERO swap — this looks like a refinement pass on what's already there, not a ground-up redesign.
My take
If the MCU and HITS latency improvements are real, this addresses almost exactly what I flagged in my SUPERSTRIKE review — the front-heavy balance from the haptic hardware was the one thing holding that mouse back from an easy top pick. I'm crossing my fingers for a G PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE 2c announcement alongside it, too. Exciting stuff either way, and I'll update this post as more solidifies ahead of September.
